One-Handed Witch Poster Reveal

A FIERY WITCH LOSES HER HAND TO AN ANGRY MOB, TAMES WILD BEASTS IN THE FOREST, AND STARTS HUSTLING SMALL TOWN FOLK AND CASINOS OUT OF ALL THEIR MONEY, WITH ONE HAND.

Happy new year of fear … and happy last day to get Early Bird tickets to One-Handed Witch. Sales don’t last forever and teasing doesn’t either. Sooner or later you need to pull up your dress and get on the bear—a scene from One-Handed Witch. The silent film of savagery and survival was written and scored by the Hiss. It was filmed by shadow puppet artists Rita Deiola and Sara Draghi in Italy. It is a collaboration of film, shadow puppets and live music. It has never been screened before a live audience—only the dead. It is a world premiere! Early Bird ticket sales end today.

Every wig-weaving business has them, except Costume Emporium. Here are the top three One-Handed Witch FAQs.

Who are the shadow puppet artists?

Rita Deiola and Sara Draghi are from Italy. I found them down a long road. The yarn ... I started prospecting for shadow puppets almost a year ago, and only after reaching out to everyone I knew and contacting shadow puppets from here to Atlantic City, I found a few. We shared couches, chat rooms and then (car crash SFX). Before I knew it, I burned through three different shadow puppet artists. One, who I performed with in the Festival of Ghouls, was evicted and couldn't do the project. The second, a clown, flew to France for a juicier gig. The third was hit with multiple deaths in her family and had to quit. Rita and Sara were the fourth. These two I found on Instagram after stalking Manual Cinema’s Follow list for half a year. Their talent with shadow and light is spellbinding.

How safe is One-Handed Witch?

Safer than eating chili out of a can. Here is PianoFight’s COVID Protocol. “Each audience member must show proof of vaccination to enter PianoFight, no exceptions. Audience members must also wear their masks unless actively eating or drinking. We will comply with all local, state, and federal requirements in effect at time of show. We reserve the right to add additional requirements that we deem necessary to keep our staff, artists, and audiences safe.” If that’s not safe, I don’t know what is.

Can I wear a witch costume to the film?

Yes, and you should. It’s not Halloween, but it is winter, until March 21. And must I remind you, arguably the most horrifying things in fictional literature and film history happened in the winter: Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and most abominably … The Thing.

One more tease before I sssssign off. The thing you’ve all been waiting for … the One-Handed Witch film poster.
